Black River Scenic Byway Waterfalls Trail

Tucked into the western UP near Bessemer, the Black River Scenic Byway offers one of Michigan’s most accessible waterfall hikes — five stunning cascades along a 4-mile forest path. Gorge Falls, Potawatomi Falls, Conglomerate Falls, Sandstone Falls, and Rainbow Falls each have their own dramatic character, all accessible via well-maintained boardwalks and staircases through ancient hemlocks. The trail ends at Black River Harbor on Lake Superior.
