Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park
Description
Michigan’s largest state park at over 60,000 acres, the “Porkies” protects the Midwest’s largest remaining stand of old-growth forest. Over 90 miles of hiking trails wind through towering hemlocks and maples to waterfalls, ridgeline overlooks, and the breathtaking Lake of the Clouds — Michigan’s most photographed inland view. A downhill ski area and extensive cross-country ski trails make it a premier winter destination too.
