Palms Book State Park – Kitch-iti-kipi
Description
Kitch-iti-kipi (“The Big Spring”) is Michigan’s largest natural freshwater spring and one of the most magical natural attractions in the Upper Peninsula. This 200-foot-wide, 40-foot-deep spring pumps over 10,000 gallons of crystal-clear 45°F water per minute from limestone fissures. Board a self-operated observation raft to peer into the turquoise depths, watching huge trout glide past ancient submerged logs in astonishing clarity.
