Pictured Rocks Lakeshore Trail

The crown jewel of UP hiking, this 42-mile point-to-point trail along the Lake Superior shoreline passes every major feature of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore — from Miners Beach and Chapel Falls to Grand Portal Point and the Grand Sable Dunes. Most hikers complete it as a 3-4 day backpacking trip, camping at designated backcountry sites steps from the lake. Day hikers flock to the Chapel Loop and Miners Castle sections for world-class views without the full commitment.
