Laughing Whitefish Falls

Laughing Whitefish Falls

Description

One of the UP’s most underrated waterfalls, Laughing Whitefish Falls in Alger County drops 100 feet in a series of cascades over ancient Precambrian quartzite ledges. The remote setting — reached via a 2-mile round-trip trail through second-growth forest — means far fewer crowds than the Munising-area falls. A wooden staircase leads to the base for a close-up view of the powerful cascade in a wild, unspoiled gorge.
