Summit Peak

Summit Peak Trail – Porcupine Mountains

Description

The Summit Peak observation tower at the end of this trail marks the highest point in the Porcupine Mountains at 1,958 feet — and on a clear day, you can see Lake Superior, Lake of the Clouds, and the vast UP wilderness stretching to the horizon. The 2-mile round-trip hike through old-growth forest is manageable for most hikers, and the 40-foot tower at the top dramatically extends your vantage point above the tree canopy.
